Ceremony to be held at noon

Kenosha Unified School District’s Julianna Coy won Gateway Technical College’s 2015 Celebrate Earth Day poster contest. Elizabeth Johnson took second, while Mia Torres took third. All three attend KUSD’s Washington Middle School.

The three will be honored at a noon ceremony at the Center For Sustainable Living’s barn area on the Kenosha Campus, 3530-30th Ave., during the April 25 Celebrate Earth Day event. Their posters, along with others who made it to the final judging round, will be displayed inside the center.

Other top finishers include KUSD fifth-graders Emily Stoddard, Wyatt Gillette and Taylor Jacobsen, all of Pleasant Prairie Elementary School as well as Brendan La Belle of Whittier Elementary School. In kindergarten, the top finishers were Hugo Rodriguez, Grant Elementary School, Cadence Rozycki, Grant Elementary School and Hannah Davis, The Brompton School.
