News Release:

Gateway Technical College’s well-known horticulture instructor and expert Kate Jerome will conduct a free workshop showing area gardeners how to put their garden “to bed” – getting the soil ready for winter and other tasks, which even include planting seeds.

The event will be held 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Center for Sustainable Living on Gateway’s Kenosha Campus, 3530-30th Ave., Kenosha. Those interested are asked to RSVP to center director Kallie Chittenden at (262) 564-2196 or chittendenk@gtc.edu.

In addition to outlining what’s needed to winterize a garden, the session will also feature “ask the expert” time, where attendees can ask garden or landscape questions.

Jerome, who holds a master’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin, is a Gateway instructor. She also writes regular local, as well as national, gardening columns. For more information on the event, contact Kallie Chittenden at (262) 564-2196.
