Three Gateway students, one from each of the college’s main campuses, were recognized during the Veterans Honor Event held Oct. 8 on the Kenosha Campus as being veterans of the year for the 2015-16 Academic Year.

Racine: Jonathan Van Brocklin, enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technology program

Kenosha: Thomas Pearson, enrolled in the Barber Technologist program

Elkhorn: Matthew Giamanco, enrolled in the Business Management program

Veteran students were nominated because of their academic excellence, service to the community and leadership qualities. A committee from each campus, headed by the campus dean, then selected the veteran of the year.
