Looking for something fun and exciting to do during the summer? Participate in Gateway’s pre-college summer camps. We have exciting options for students entering 6th grade all the way through high school, as well as a learning opportunity for educators.

Parents: When registering, please create a unique username and password for each student or access the existing account from a previous summer camp. You can use your same email address, but all registration information should be that of the student. For registration assistance please email the Contact Center at sscontactcenter@gtc.edu.

A printed, completed and submitted Participant Release, Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement and Publicity Release Form is required for each student PRIOR to the first day of each summer camp for participation. Forms can be scanned and emailed to Contact Center at sscontactcenter@gtc.edu or mailed to the following address:

Rev Up and Roll Electric RC Car Camp

The Rev Up and Roll camp is designed for high school age students who have a common interest in RC cars and want to explore the world of electric radio-controlled vehicles. The camp will provide a platform for participants to learn, collaborate and enjoy hands-on experiences in repairing, customizing and racing RC cars.

Learn about taking care of others from the perspective of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN).

Nitro-X

Rev up your passion for cars and mechanics at Nitro-X! Through hands-on activities and learning, campers will build, test and drive nitro-methane powered cars. Lunches will be provided for campers. Campers can pack their own lunches if preferred.

Exploring Vegetable Gardening

Join us throughout the summer to explore the growth, development, care, maintenance and flavor of the Urban Farm at Gateway Technical College. Learn the process of soil care, planting seeds, transplanting, harvesting, seed saving and produce storage. We will explore the cooking and processing (freezing, pickling, drying) of fruits, vegetables and herbs we grow onsite. Learn how to prevent pests and diseases while using critical thinking skills to problem-solve issues when they happen. Spend this summer discovering a life-long hobby or a new career path.

The Art, Science and Technology of Growing Plants

Take a week out of your busy summer to spend the mornings enjoying the art, science and technology of growing plants – aka horticulture. Get your hands into a little bit of everything horticulture has to offer. Learn how to design, plan and install a beautiful landscape space that benefits birds, bees, butterflies, mammals and people alike. You’ll even create and take home fresh floral centerpieces with flowers you cut from Gateway’s garden. Join us this summer and find a life-long hobby or a future career path.

Introduction to Industrial Robots

In this camp, students will learn how to program Fanuc industrial robots for a real world manufacturing application, giving them an experience that could spark interest in a future-focused career.

Intro to Robotics

In this camp, students will learn how to program a small tabletop robot to create a solution for a manufacturing problem. Mixing fun, creative problem solving and robotics into one class, students will leave with a smile on their face and potentially with their sights set on a great career field.

Cosmair Salon Braiding Summer Camp

Braiding hair is a fun and creative skill that you can use to create a variety of hairstyles and looks. During this camp, you’ll learn the basics, such as three-strand and cornrow braids. We’ll also offer tips and tricks for creating fun, unique braided hairstyles. Leave the camp with a skill to show off at home and at future summer camps. Join us and let's get braiding!

Summer Maker Camp - Fab Lab

The Summer Maker Camp is a chance for students to learn 3D printing, laser engraving, virtual reality technology and desktop CNC skills while they spend the week creating anything they can imagine. While 3D printers are more common now, this camp fosters problem solving and lateral thinking. Most of all, students will have tons of fun! There will be snacks provided, and Friday lunch is provided for family and friends.

STEM Pre-K Mini Camp - Fab Lab

This three-day camp meets an hour and a half each day. Parents must accompany their children. Participants will use digital technology to parallel conventional learning, as they use fun, cool stuff like robots, 3D printers and laser engravers.
