1. Center for Sustainable Living: All are encouraged to stop by the Center to learn about sustainable practices. Be sure to explore the Bee Barn, Bat Exhibit, Butterfly Gazebo and more! 
2. Native Pollinator Prairie: Cultivated with native wildflowers and grasses, this area supports a variety of pollinators, which are crucial to our ecosystem and way of life. 
3. Oak Savanna Restoration: This expansive landscape features a prairie-like ground layer and spaced-out oak trees, which produce a vital wildlife food – acorns! 
4. Solar Hot Water: The collectors transfer heat from the sun to the water that runs through the pipes, providing hot water that’s cost-effective and environmentally friendly. 
5. Passive Solar Lighting: This lighting reduces electrical costs and our dependence on fossil fuels, making it a smart, sustainable choice for pathways on campus. 
6. Windspire: Our 30-foot structure is primarily used for educational purposes, but these windspires are great for residential yards, generating clean, cost-effective and renewable power. 
7. Permaculture Guild: Fruit trees are surrounded by companion plants that work together to grow and support each other, offering a healthy ecosystem that benefits all. 
8. Pike Creek Restoration: While the creek is facing several issues, like urban stormwater runoff, habitat degradation and invasive species growth, restoration efforts are ongoing. 9. Outdoor Classroom: Everyone is encouraged to use this space for learning. Have a seat, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy benefits like a stronger focus and reduced stress! 1
10. Solar Tracker: By providing energy to campus through an environmentally friendly source – the sun – the tracker helps reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. 
11. Pike Creek Arboretum: This area boasts more than 40 trees, all chosen based on native character and novelty. It’s the perfect setting for a little break in your day. 1
12. Pike Creek Horticulture Center: Gateway Horticulture program students gain hands-on skills in the Center’s classrooms, landscapes and greenhouses, discovering how to care for plants while focusing on sustainability too. 13. Urban Farm: Growing your produce is gratifying and cost-effective! Our farm gives students the hands-on experience and knowledge to create their own thriving garden. 
14. Rain Garden: This landscape feature does more than just look pretty. It’s a place for wildlife and beneficial insects to live and helps reduce polluted runoff from entering Wisconsin’s waters. 
15. Gravel Garden: Low-maintenance and eco-friendly, this garden requires less water, less energy and zero chemicals, plus it attracts a variety of pollinators too! 
16. No-mow Lawn: This drought-tolerant lawn forms quickly, is low maintenance and requires no fertilizers or chemical treatment. 
17. Sustainable Gateway: Inside our buildings, you’ll find features focused on helping our environment by reducing plastic waste, saving water, improving air quality and reducing energy use.
