Start College Now Checklist | Gateway Technical College

Congratulations on your approval to enroll at Gateway Technical College!

Please follow the steps below to ensure you’re registered and ready for class:

Step 1: Check your email for a Start College Now confirmation from dualcredit@gtc.edu
- If you’re approved for nursing assistant/CNA or EMT, please complete the admission requirements as outlined on gtc.edu/programs or connect with your New Student Specialist at newstudentspecialists@gtc.edu
Step 2: Set up your My Gateway account online at gtc.edu & click My Gateway
- For assistance with logging in, refer to this video or call Gateway at 1-800-247-7122
- Through this account, you can register and view your My Class Schedule, the room locations, instructor contact information and access Brightspace/Gateway email
Step 3: Register for your classes via My Gateway. You can also attend the Start College Now Orientation Night to register for approved classes. The date and time will be listed in your confirmation email from dualcredit@gtc.edu
Step 4: Complete your FERPA Consent for Release of Student Information Form
- You may consent to release your education records to parents, legal guardians, or other individuals by completing the Consent for Release form
  
  Such consent should be given in a non-coercive environment. Gateway must have a Consent to Release form on file before releasing any information pertaining to the student
Step 5: Once you’re registered, check your Brightspace for the course syllabus and assignments and check your Gateway email for updates on your classes from your Gateway instructor
Step 6: Refer to your confirmation email from dualcredit@gtc.edu for the date when you can begin purchasing textbooks. Gateway textbooks can be purchased online at gtc.edu/bookstore
Step 7: Share your college class schedule with your high school counselor
