Ready to take the driver’s seat? Become a leader in manufacturing through Gateway’s Industrial Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship. You’ll learn to set up, operate, monitor and control industrial production equipment, as well as strive to improve processes to meet customer expectations.
- Earn up to $17.01 an hour as an established manufacturing technician.
- Train for just 1.5 years with two semesters of paid related instruction (or the equivalent) – 3,000 hours.
- Begin a rewarding career with no student debt–in fact, you’ll get paid to attend classes!
- In the last year of your apprenticeship, you’ll take a Transition-to-Trainer course to prepare you to share your skills with others and take on a position of leadership in your field.
Qualifications
You must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or equivalent, have a valid driver’s license and pass an aptitude test. You must possess your OSHA 10 safety, First Aid and CPR certifications. Other requirements, such as a Forklift certification, may be set forth by your employer/sponsor or state apprenticeship advisory committee.
Get started as an Industrial Manufacturing Technician Apprentice
Finding an apprenticeship is very similar to a typical job search; openings are sometimes listed online, or you can seek an employer willing to hire you as an apprentice. Apply directly to the employer’s hiring office.
If you need assistance finding an employer who will take you on as an apprentice, please contact the local WI DWD-BAS Apprenticeship Training Representative at 414-216-8417 to find an employer approved to train apprentices.
Once your contract is in place, Gateway’s Apprenticeship department will communicate with you regarding registration, classes and books.
