In this course, students explore the automotive service environment. Students will examine automated, web-based information systems used by automotive service professionals including: Wisconsin Chapter ATCP 132 Motor Vehicle Repair, computer-generated repair orders, and Electronic Service Information Systems such as ShopKey and ALLDATAT. Students practice using the automated tool control system, and, through observation of automotive service employers and the Gateway Auto Lab, develop an awareness of how automotive service work is performed. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to work safely in an automotive shop environment and navigate automated, web-based information systems, and they will have gained the knowledge to earn industry-recognized torque and precision measuring certifications throughNC3.
