Browse our test options below and you’ll find information regarding test location, cost and helpful resources to assist you in preparing to take your test. For any proctored tests, we ask that you contact a member of the Testing Services team prior to scheduling your exam with student services.

Accuplacer Next Generation Placement Testing

The Accuplacer placement test helps us assess your knowledge and place you into appropriate level courses.

Apprenticeship Testing

If you’re pursuing an apprenticeship, your employer may require you to take the Accuplacer. For your appointment, you will need to know which sections of the test you are required to take. Please contact your union/agency if you are unsure.

Credit for Prior Learning (CFPL)

If you have prior knowledge or skills in a certain subject from work or military experience, you can save time and money by earning credit for prior learning.

Complete your high school education by earning your General Education Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).

Kryterion

Schedule your Kryterion test at Gateway through your test client’s website. As a Kryterion candidate, you will be responsible for adhering to all of Kryterion’s testing policies and security. 

Locations offered: Kenosha

Pearson VUE

Pearson VUE testing is offered on all three campuses and you can schedule your test through Pearson VUE online.  As a Pearson VUE candidate, you will be responsible for adhering to all of Pearson VUE’s testing policies and procedures. Learn more about Pearson VUE testing through this video

Proctoring Services

Gateway offers proctoring services on each campus for students who need to have a test or exam proctored for another school. If you’re interested in having your test proctored, please contact the Testing Services staff for your desired campus to discuss details and set up an appointment.

Cost: $25

PSI

Gateway offers PSI testing which you can schedule through the PSI website. As a PSI candidate, you will be responsible for adhering to all of PSI’s testing policies and security procedures.

Scantron

Gateway Testing Services is an authorized provider for Scantron Certification and Licensing. To schedule your exam, please visit the Scantron website or via your exam provider.

HESI A2

The Health Education Systems, Inc. Admissions Assessment (HESI A2) is designed to assess basic learning skills and help gauge classroom success. In order to take the HESI A2, you must be admitted to the Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Physical Therapy or Surgical Technician program at Gateway Technical College. 

Locations offered: Elkhorn, Kenosha and Racine campuses

Cost: $54 for Medical Laboratory Technician, Nursing/ADN, Paramedic to ADN Bridge, Practical Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant and Surgical Technology students; $44 for Dental Hygiene students

WorkKeys

The WorkKeys test is frequently used by businesses to assess potential employees’ skills in a variety of content areas. It’s also used by high schools to assess students’ skills for certain program requirements.
