The Gateway Technical College District is governed by a nine-member board of trustees representing the communities served by the three-county district. The Board comprises two employer members, two employee members, one elected official, one school district administrator, one student representative and three additional members. Members are appointed by the chairpersons of the Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth County Boards of Supervisors, and serve staggered three-year terms.

NOTICE

Notice is hereby given by Mr. Scott Maier, Racine County Board of Supervisors and Chairperson of the Appointment Committee for the Gateway Technical College District Board that the Appointment Committee will meet Monday, March 24, 2025, 5:30 p.m., at the SC Johnson iMET Center of Gateway Technical College, Kopper Auditorium, 2320 Renaissance Boulevard, Sturtevant, WI 53177 to:

  • Hold a public hearing on board nominations
  • Review and approve the Plan of Representation
  • Consider the appointment of representatives to the Gateway Technical College District Board and consider other items relating to the appointment process.

The Gateway Technical College District Board Appointment Committee reserves the right to adjourn into executive session at this meeting per Wisconsin Statute 19.85 (1)(c) and (1)(f) to consider information which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person, and reserves the right to convene again into open session for the purpose of taking action.

Vacant is one (1) Kenosha Seat, one (1) Racine Seat and one (1) Walworth Seat. All three (3) appointees will be appointed to three-year terms commencing on July 1, 2025 and expiring on June 30, 2028.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

In order to meet eligibility requirements, all candidates must attend the Board Appointment Public Hearing in person, scheduled for March 24, 2025 at 5:30 pm at the SC Johnson iMET Center and be interviewed.
