Gateway Technical College’s student chapter of dig.IT will hold its popular public computer repair clinic August 2-3 in Room 102 of the conference center on the college’s Racine Campus, 1001 S. Main St.
Those interested in the clinic should use the northeast entrance (Door 21) off of Pershing Blvd., near the skate park.
Computer and device check-in will be held 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., August 2.
Computer pickup will be in Room 102 of the conference center on the Racine Campus, 9 a.m. to noon, August 3.
Computers will be accepted for repair on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Students can assist with the following:
- Update PC operating systems.
- Check for viruses and malware.
- Diagnose internet connectivity issues.
- Optimize computer function.
- Perform Windows upgrades (if computer hardware is compatible).
- Install hardware provided by the customer.
- iOS updates on iPhone and iPad.
Computer owners will receive a text or call when their device is ready.
The clinic is a fund-raiser for the student information technology club. Participants are encouraged to contribute $20 for each computer or device worked on.
