Have a debt owed to Gateway, but want to return to school? Check out the options below.

Students who have a balance due of $500 or less are eligible to register for classes and services.View financial information on your My Gateway account.

If your balance has been sent to collections (via State Debt Collections Agency) and you have made a payment plan with collections, you may be eligible to request to enroll.

To be eligible to request to enroll, students:

  • Cannot have more than two semesters of debt and balance cannot exceed $5,000 to qualify.
  • Must have proof of payment plan from State Debt Collections (SDC). SDC can be contacted at 608-264-0345.
  • Must submit the Request to Enroll form after proof of payment plan is obtained. Responses to requests will be sent to Gateway student email accounts within 48 business hours.
    • Students who request their debt to be submitted to SDC will be subject to collections fees.

Students that have debt older than three terms may be eligible for debt forgiveness through the Fresh Start to Finish Program. Students must have at least nine credits earned, a debt under $1500 and cannot have attended Gateway during the last three semesters. Visit the program page for more information.
