Bring some creative, fun learning to the classroom with the Fab Lab. Gateway offers a Fab Lab for Instructors workshop specifically designed for educators of all grade levels to learn the ins and outs of the equipment typically found in the Fab Lab. Fab Lab for Instructors provides a strong foundation in 3D printing, laser engraving, CNC routing and vinyl cutting. We’ll also explore ideas for integrating Fab Lab equipment into the classroom, developing networks and support groups and implementing cross-platform between instructors.
Gateway Instructors
We encourage Gateway instructors to bring their students to the Fab Lab, incorporate Fab Lab technology into their curriculum and encourage their students to visit the Fab Lab throughout the semester to gain hands-on knowledge in manufacturing, technology, science and art. We’re happy to help you get started or set up your visit!
K-12 Instructors
We’d love to host your class for a field trip, visit or workshop! Grades K-12 are welcome to come visit and learn what the Fab Lab is all about. Sparking an early interest in engineering, art, technology and manufacturing could even lead to future careers for your students.
Kids Lab
Gateway’s Fab Lab team is proud to have set up 10 Kids Labs throughout Southeast Wisconsin. Kids Labs are miniature, portable Fab Labs that K-12 teachers can use to teach their students about manufacturing, engineering and technology, as well as foster a passion for these in-demand fields at a young age. We also have two Kids Labs available for rent.
Learn more, rent a Kids Lab or register you or your students for a workshop or visit by filling out the Fab Lab request form, calling 262-564-2663 or emailing the Fab Lab at training@gtc.edu.
