Gateway Technical College will be a host site participating in the National Career and Technical Education Letter of Intent Signing Day starting at 11 a.m. February 18 in the Madrigrano Auditorium of the Conference Center on the college’s Kenosha Campus, 3520-30th Ave., Kenosha.
More than 130 high-schoolers will participate in Gateway’s signing ceremony – similar to a signing ceremony for athletes who commit to a specific college – which celebrates their decision to attend Gateway.
Members of the media wishing to cover the event should note that there will be students from high schools in Racine County, Kenosha County and Walworth County at the event: Bradford High School, Burlington High School, East Troy High School, Elkhorn Area High School, Harborside Academy, Horlick High School, Indian Trail High School, J. I. Case High School, LakeView Technology Academy, The REAL School, Tremper High School, Union Grove High School, Washington Park High School, Walden lll High School, Waterford High School, Westosha Central High School and Wilmot High School.
Gateway students will be part of a broadcast that features prospective students at other technical colleges in the nation signing their letters of intent.
This national event sponsored by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletes who commit to play sports in college. It is designed to honor students who are entering a technical field and to celebrate the dignity of work.
