Gateway Technical College Foundation Inc. has announced its Adult Learner Scholarships are open for applicants.
Deadline for applications is Aug. 12.
These scholarship opportunities are for new Gateway students age 19 and older who have earned their GED, high school equivalency diploma or graduated from high school prior to 2018.
Several scholarships are specifically designated for students who have completed their HSED or GED credential.
Generally, applicants who’ve already completed any Gateway credits are ineligible. However, there is an exception: Students enrolled in the following programs are still eligible to apply: Dental Assistant, Pharmacy Technician or Barbering/Cosmetology.
These specific scholarships have a deadline earlier than those for continuing education students and aim to assist students new to the college, but are not recent high school graduates. Many who benefit from the scholarships are those in one-year technical diploma programs – who may be unable to apply for the continuing education scholarships, which require students to have completed at least three to six credits before applying.
The entire process is completed online, which includes application and letters of recommendation. Scholarships are at least $500. For more information, or to apply: https://www.gtc.edu/learner
