Gateway Technical College has extended the application period for its prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award.
The deadline for submitting nominations has been extended to Dec. 2.
Honorees will be recognized and receive an award at Gateway Technical College’s 23rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration program at noon January 16, 2017 for exemplifying the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and serving the causes of equality, justice, freedom and peace. This year’s theme is “The King in You.”
To qualify for the honor, recipients need to be residents of Kenosha County, Racine County or Walworth County and honor King’s legacy of character and service.
Nomination forms are divided into two categories – Student and Adult – and will awarded to students and adults distinguished for humanitarian contributions to society in his or her school, business or profession, as well as dedication to volunteerism or philanthropic life’s work.
