Holiday shoppers can find that handmade or unique gift at the Seventh Annual Holiday Gifting Art and Craft show fund-raiser 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Gateway’s Kenosha Campus, 3520-30th Ave. The event is sponsored by the Gateway Association for Career and Technical Education (GACTE).
The event is free and open to the public.
New this year to the event will be Santa’s Workshop, to be held in the Pike Creek Horticulture Center. Children can have their photo taken with Santa Claus, and all attendees can make and take fun and funky wreaths and containers planted with succulent greens.
More than 105 crafters and artists will sell gifts, artwork, jewelry and crafts of all types. Home-based vendors of home décor and personal care products will also be on hand. The fair will fill the majority of the main academic complex including the Student Commons and the Technical, Science, Service and Academic Building corridors.
These buildings are located on the southeastern end of the campus, right off 30th Avenue. The Pike Creek Horticulture Center is a standalone building located adjacent to, and west of, the main complex.
The event is sponsored as a fund-raiser for GACTE. This professional organization donates the majority of its booth sales to benefit Gateway students with student emergency funding and by sponsoring a scholarship.
