Gateway Technical College president Bryan Albrecht has been selected to the America Technical Education Association Board of Trustees as its president for 2017-19.
ATEA is an independent association devoted to excellence in the quality of postsecondary technical education with emphasis on professional development and workforce development
“It is an honor to be elected to serve as the president of ATEA at this important time in our nation's history,” said Albrecht. “Workforce training is as important today as it was in the 1920s. Technology and skills have changed the approach to training but our economic success is hinged on how well we educate our youth and adults.”
As president of the association, Albrecht and Gateway will host ATEA’s national conference, attracting hundreds of college faculty to our community to learn from faculty and business partners.
“National leadership in organizations like ATEA brings opportunities to our students and faculty,” said Albrecht. “Networking with business, faculty and government leaders gives our staff access to some of the most innovative strategies to improve our services to the students and employers of Southeastern Wisconsin. My role as the association president is to advocate for strengthening our national talent pipeline through technical training and career education.”
