Kenosha, WI (October 8, 2015) – Students earning an associate degree from Gateway Technical College will have a new, more flexible option to achieve a bachelor’s degree, and even earn credit toward a master’s degree, thanks to a partnership announced with Wisconsin-based Herzing University.
DEGREE UP provides a student-centered, affordable educational opportunity for Gateway students. Following completion of their Gateway associate degree and application to DEGREE UP, students can pursue credits from Gateway and Herzing at the same time. The agreement allows them to take additional courses through Gateway, which would apply to the Herzing degree, at a cost-effective price.
As a result, DEGREE UP students will take remaining courses from Herzing University, but they can start, stay and finish their bachelor’s degree while remaining on Gateway’s campus or the local Herzing Kenosha campus, resulting in earning an associate degree and bachelor’s degree in as little as four years.
Graduates in Gateway’s Business Management, IT-Network, Marketing Management, Accounting and Professional Communication may qualify to DEGREE UP.
“This is a hallmark partnership for Gateway Technical College” said Manoj Babu, Gateway Associate Dean of Business. “DEGREE UP will create an amazing pathway for Gateway students to pursue their careers by earning an associate’s degree at Gateway, and then graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree through Herzing University.”
“We want to give all students in the Kenosha and Racine area an equal opportunity to pursue competitive, career-ready degrees,” said Herzing University President Renee Herzing. “Everyone should be able to earn a bachelor’s degree in the most efficient manner possible, without having to worry about a difficult transition between schools.”
Gateway Technical College collaborates with communities in Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties to ensure economic growth and viability by providing education, training, leadership and technological resources to meet the changing needs of students, employers and communities. www.gtc.edu
